Is this normal?

We celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary yesterday. What a fantastically normal day. I took the day off work, we had breakfast @ Rudy's, went and caught an early afternoon showing of 'The Pineapple Express' (very funny flick), we did some some shopping, got home to get the kids off the bus, cooked up some chicken on the grill, helped the kids with their homework, took my son to his first Boy Scout pack meeting, got 'em home, put them to bed and fell asleep watching Nova.

Honestly, on Dec 13th 2007, I wasn't even sure if we'd see 13 years. I was in complete shock and I had no idea what the 'C-word' meant. Months? Years? Not a clue. What I can say is that I can truly appreciate a normal day, and how blessed I feel to have the opportunity to do all those things. Carpe Diem.

Thanks Jude.

How is your sister doing?

Thanks for asking John, she's scared and depressed after being blindsided: She thought it was pretty much "done" after her surgery a month or so ago. But she got a call back several days ago saying they wanted her back for more surgery, they didn't maybe get it all the first time, after telling her they did. She has surgery again in a few days and talks to her doc tomorrow. Another sister and myself are taking her out for a nice "sister's night out" dinner tomorrow, and hopefully we'll learn more.

Sounds like they didn't get clear margins during the lumpectomy. It is important that they get all those cells. I know it's hard for her to realize, but she is fortunate that it is still localized and she caught it early. The numbers are very much in her favor.

You know John, every time I talk to you about this I feel less scared. Thank you for that. (((hugs))) to you and Linda!
